Friday, 2/12 – Lock-In / Movie Night

We have a Lock-in held at the Kissimmee and the Clermont location. Come join us for our first movie night of the year! You do not have to be a taekwondo student to attend, so bring your friends! The cost is $25.00 (includes pizza, popcorn, drink, movie, dodgeball & more.) Students can arrive as early as 7:00pm Friday night, and we will end the adventure with a 7:00am workout Saturday morning. All that you have to bring is your pajamas, a pillow, and a sleeping bag or blanket. Activities include dodgeball til midnight, a viewing of the latest DVD animated movie rated G or PG (Kissimmee location has a large mega screen), and much, much more! Come sign up at the front counter at any of our locations.

Friday, 2/19 – TaeKwonDo All-Day Camp

It’s Rodeo Day – Osceola County schools are closed. We will have a camp that starts at 7:30am until 6:00pm, cost is $25.00 per child for non-after school TKD students & $10.00 for TKD after-school students; held at the Kissimmee location only.

Saturday, 3/13 – Tournament Readiness Clinic

This clinic is to prepare students for competition at next week’s Regional Tournament. No regular classes will be held. This clinic is worth 3 class credits. Held at our Kissimmee location for the Kissimmee students and also held at our Clermont location for Clermont students. Kissimmee times are: White & Yellow Belts begin at 9:30am; Little Dragons begin at 10:15am and Orange Belt & Above students begin at 10:45am. Clermont times are: White & Yellow Belts begin at 9:30am; Orange Belt & Above students begin at 10:15am.

Saturday, 3/20 – Regional Tournament

Regionals held at KOA Kampgrounds located 4276 US Highway 441 South, Okeechobee, FL 34974. Registration includes competition in traditional patterns and continuous sparring. Ask your instructor for registration form to fill out. Competition times are listed on the tournament registration form. We will not have regular classes at any of the locations.

Friday, 4/2 through Friday 4/9 – TaeKwonDo Spring Break Camp

Who will watch over your children? We will! Camp begins at 7:30am until 6:00pm, cost is $120.00 per child for 6-days of camp or $25.00 per day. Non-TKD students are welcome, this camp is held at the Kissimmee location only. Make sure to bring your lunch.

Saturday, 4/10 – Testing Readiness Clinic

This clinic is to prepare students for the next belt rank before their Promotional Testing. No regular classes will be held. This clinic is worth 3 class credits. Held at our Kissimmee location for Kissimmee students and also held at our Clermont location for Clermont students. Kissimmee times are: White & Yellow Belts begin at 9:30am; Little Dragons begin at 10:15am and Orange Belt & Above students begin at 10:45am. Clermont times are: White & Yellow Belts begin at 9:30am; Orange Belt & Above students begin at 10:15am. Black Belt Written Exam will immediately follow in both locations.

Wednesday, 4/14 - Pre-TESTING

Your pre-testing will start during your regular class time at each location.

Thursday, 4/15, Friday 4/16 & Saturday 4/17 - Little Dragon Graduation

Kissimmee Little Dragons graduation is scheduled on Friday, 4/16 at 4:00pm at that location and Clermont Little Dragons graduation scheduled on Saturday, 4/17 at 9:30am in that location.

Thursday, 4/15 – Promotional TESTING for White through Purple Belts

White through Purple Belt students at the Clermont location will Test in Clermont. Then White through Purple Belt students at the Kissimmee students will Test in Kissimmee. All other ranks at each of these locations will Test in Clermont on Saturday, 4/17 (Blue Belts & Above students). No regular classes will be held. Wear your full white uniform. The times are as follows:

Juniors / Adults - White & Yellow Belts at 5:30pm

Juniors / Adults - Orange, Green, & Purple Belts at 6:30pm

Saturday, 4/17 – Promotional TESTING for Blue Belts & Above in Clermont

Blue through Black Belt students in Clermont / Kissimmee students will test in the Clermont location. No regular classes will be held. Wear your full white uniform. The times are as follows:

Juniors / Adults - Blue, Brown, Red & Black Belts at 10:30am

Monday, 4/19 – No Classes

We will not have regular classes at any of the locations; our Kissimmee after-school program will run as usual. Instead, we have an instructors meeting held at our Kissimmee location at 5:30pm, to discuss your child’s testing performance and new teaching approaches.

Tuesday 4/20 this whole week – Bring a Friend to Class

Have your friends take a free class at your TaeKwonDo School with you and show off your taekwondo stuff. This is held at each location.

Thursday, 4/22 – Kissimmee Awards Ceremony

Kissimmee students will have their Belt Ceremony in the Kissimmee location at 5:30pm for all ranks. Wear your full white uniform.

Friday, 4/23 – Kissimmee Movie & Lock-In

Kissimmee students will have Movie Night & Lock-In at the Kissimmee location from 7:00pm til 7:00am. Regular classes will run as usual and Lock-in will immediately follow. Bring your sleeping bag, change of clothes and pillow.

Friday, 4/23 – Clermont Awards Ceremony & Lock-In

Clermont students will have their Belt Ceremony in the Clermont location at 5:30pm for all ranks. Wear your full white uniform then immediately following will start the lock-in. Bring your sleeping bag, change of clothes and pillow.

Upcoming Events:

Black Belt Conference & Instructors Retreat - Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, located at 3030 Holiday Drive, Ft Lauderdale, FL 33316. On Fri 5/28 through Sat 5/29 for Conference (High Rank Testing scheduled on Sat 5/29) and Retreat same location begins Sun 5/30 through Tues 6/1.

Look for July 2010 Regional Tournament – location in Kissimmee. This date and location is to be announced.

Regional Tournament - Saturday, 3/20/2010

Ask your instructor for tournament registration form.  Tournament site located at KOA Campgrounds in 4276 US Highway 441 South, Okeechobee, FL 34974.  Tournament registration fee is $55.00 per competitor includes competing in traditional patterns and continuous sparring.  Weapon Sparring and Weapon Free Design Pattern competition is $10.00.  There is an additional fee for spectators at the door.  For more information call your instructor.

Friday, September 17th & Saturday, September 18th - National Tournament 2010

Located at Drawbridge Inn & Convention Center - 2477 Royal Drive, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017-3599.  If you plan on booking a room at this hotel call 1-800-354-9793 for reservations, ask for TaeKwonDo America group rate of $80.00 per night.  Tournament registration fee is $70.00 (per competitor) includes competing in traditional patterns and continuous sparring.  Friday is scheduled for High Rank Testings, 3rd, 4th & 5th Degree Black Belt Men/Women Competitions & Team Sparring Competitions.  

If you’re really looking for a challenge, and to test your skills this will be the tournament to attend.  Ask your instructor for registration form to fill out.  Competition times are listed on the tournament registration form.  This competition is worth 3 class credits.

We will not have regular classes held at any of the locations.

Black Belt Conference & School Owners Retreat - May 2010

Scheduled at the Marriott Hotel - Harbor Beach Resort & Spa located at 3030 Holiday Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316. 

On Friday May 28th & Saturday May 29th begins the Black Belt Conference (High Rank Testing on Saturday, 5/29/10).  Instructors Retreat Sunday May 30th through Tuesday June 1st at the same location.
